Making an impact on reducing the number of homeless individuals necessitates a mix of services and housing. As our state leaders allocate resources for homelessness in Fiscal Year 2018, we have the following goals:
- Last year, our state leaders allocated $44.835 million in direct aid to homeless services providers to reach out to homeless individuals (7004-0102). When adjusted for inflation, this aid has dropped 8.6 percent since 2001. This year we seek a $5.065 million increase to the Homeless Individuals Line-item, which would raise the funding level to $50 million.
